The children at Hodnet Primary School love their new PE equipment.

Hodnet Primary School aims to provide the best possible education, recognising that every child is special and has individual needs and abilities.

The school is in the small rural village of Hodnet, which has an interesting history dating back to the Norman invasion. The name Hodnet is derived from ‘old’ Welsh hawdd ‘pleasant/peaceful’ + nant ‘valley/stream,’ and is usually interpreted as meaning pleasant valley.

The school was looking to add a new outdoor gym area for the children to play and exercise on, and so turned to Sunshine Gym. With Site Managers based around the UK, we were able to complete a site visit, assessing the area and understanding the needs of the school very quickly.

They selected three pieces of equipment from our children’s range including a Double health walker, a Double Slalom Skier, and a Sky Stepper, altogether accommodating up to seven children at any one time. The outdoor fitness area was complete with grass matting, providing a soft and durable surface that can withstand continuous use.

In total, the three pieces of equipment offer great exercise stations for pupils to enjoy and provide sustainable improvements to the school’s PE offering.
